As cleaning equipment brands, Vileda and Ansell might seem unlikely supporters of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Yet they have been involved with the Foundation for 5 years and have just stepped up their support to Platinum Partner.
They have Pink products, have run Pink promotions and breakfasts and have recently launched the Clean for a Cure campaign to raise $1 million for breast cancer research. But you may be asking – why?
With 1 in 8 women to be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, Vileda and Ansell understand just how much work there is to be done on prevention and cures for the disease. But more than just recognising the need for ‘someone’ to find a cure, they understand that without funding there is no research, and without research there is no cure. Without individuals and corporations to truly get behind organisations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation, targets such as the goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030 are only daydreams. With real support and by placing financial goals sitting alongside research goals, there is the genuine prospect of a cure.
With many Vileda and Ansell staff experiencing breast cancer in their own families and networks, it is also a cause that touches the hearts of the team. Unfortunately as one of the most common cancers affecting women, just about every staff member has a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin or friend who has been affected by the disease. As a group the Vileda and Ansell team truly supports the Clean for a Cure campaign and are proud to work for a company that is helping to make a real difference.
